Lo & Behold operates on a three-part mission that aims to help everyone that’s connected to our business feel good.

Our PRODUCT MISSION

drives us to create high quality, feel-good skincare products that add calming moments of happiness to any self-care practice.

Learn more: All of our ingredients are 100% natural, non-toxic, and responsibly sourced. We focus on using locally grown and certified organic ingredients to make our products look, smell, and feel good, while also being safe, gentle, and effective for all skin types. All of our products are nourishing and fresh-made in small batches. We do not use any fillers like water or alcohol, so a little goes along way. Lo & Behold is never tested on animals, and all products are free of parabens, sulfates, petroleum, and all synthetic ingredients like artificial fragrances and preservatives.

Our Economic MISSION

inspires us to partner with independent farmers, artists, and other small businesses to responsibly source our ingredients, contribute to our brand’s design, and connect with our customers. 

Learn more: We’re proud that our products are often made from ingredients grown by small, NC-based farmers, and that the art and photography behind our visual presence is from NC-based artists and photographers. We also feature locally handcrafted pottery and textiles in many of our gift sets, and all of our store and market displays are locally made by a woodworker using NC-reclaimed wood. Lo & Behold is carried by over 40 independently owned businesses and available at local craft and farmers markets.

OUR SOCIAL MISSION

Compels us to create a safe and collaborative company culture and contribute meaningfully to our community through our Choose Your Impact program and regular donations of products, time, and financial support for just causes. 

Learn more: Our Choose Your Impact program incentivizes customers to seek out and financially support progressive causes, in exchange for a discount on Lo & Behold products. We started this program as a way to learn about, connect with, and honor the social justice efforts locally and nationally that are working to strengthen the communities we’re connected to through each of you. In the first several years of running our business, we focused on partnering with a local nonprofit supporting young people who are striving to access the educational, economic, and social assets they need to sustainably enjoy a self-determined life, and we intend to continue seeking opportunities for more in-depth partnership. In addition to these efforts, on select days throughout each year, we donate 100% of net sales or products to organizations whose work we hope to amplify, and we encourage paid local volunteer days for members of our team.
